The Royal Oak is a rural community public house, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Open from 7pm every day, but can open from 10am onwards by request. Space for motor homes, tents and caravans. Buffet can be provided for special occasions. The Oak is ideally suited for walkers. If you fancy camping the pub have an adjacent field that you can use. The pub has been featured in a number of walking magazines. From here you can roam to Moel Fammau, Offa’s Dyke, The Clwydian Hills or just potter around the forest tracks which are right on the pubs doorstep. The pub is situated on the A541, some four miles west of Mold on the Mold Denbigh Road. As you come out of the village of Hendre we are some 600 yards on the right – you cannot miss us – plenty of parking spaces for groups of walkers. Sunday nights the pub has a community quiz. A general knowledge quiz for any number in a team, a fun night with a raffle and prizes for the winners. The raffle money goes into a fund to support on going and new activities in the villages. To date the pub has donated over Ã‚Â£30,000 to activities in the community. The more those participate the more they can donate and help others and support the community spirit. Saturday nights are taken up with bingo and singing. On the first two Saturdays of any month we play bingo with the snowball being over Ã‚Â£200 at times – plenty of fun. Ã‚Â£190 was won on the second Saturday of September.. On the third, fourth and fifth Saturday (if there is a fifth) of the month the pub sing with Ivor on the organ. All the old favourites being bellowed out in Welsh and in English, do not worry if you do not know the words we have a special printed song book to help you – all the mod cons for a good time.
