The Swan at Hanley swan is a prettily set pub with an attractive contemporary layout and dacor. Set opposite the village green with its beautiful oak tree and adjacent to the duck pond, The Swan boasts a beautiful enclosed garden with seating for up to 78 people. There is also a ramp leading from the 30 cars, car park which gives access into the restaurant for less able customers. To complete the perfect village setting, the village store, complete with post office overlooks the duck pond. Inside there are two main areas. The conventional bar area, which has its own servery and has a fresh up to date country look with some oak panelling contrasting with older rough timbering. During the winter months, a roaring log fire gives the bar a warm, homely feel. One area of the bar has dark leather bucket armchairs and sofas brightened up by scatter cushions. The restaurant area has a rustic feel to it with some stripped masonry and bare boards. Many of the good sturdy dining tables have comfortable high backed chairs. The two French doors open up onto the patio area hosting seating for up to 24 people. The Swan also offers over-night accommodation by way of four superbly appointed double en-suite bedrooms and one twin en-suite bedroom. Each room is dressed to a high standard and includes a colour TV and a selection of beverages and biscuits. A full English breakfast or a lighter continental breakfast is on offer each morning. The Swan also offers a good selection of lunchtime snacks from baguettes and wraps and jacket potatoes to traditional cod and chips and homemade beef burger. The A la Carte evening menu caters for a range of tastes. The homemade steak and ale pie is a very popular dish together with various fish dishes on offer. Prices range from Â£4.95 at lunchtime and Â£7.95 in the evening. Starters start from Â£1.95 for olives, oil, and crusty bread. A daily specials board is also available both lunchtime and evening which gives a wider selection to the available menu. The Swan is situated less than one mile from the Three Counties Show Ground and just four miles from Great Malvern. The Malvern Hills provides a beautiful backdrop. Upton upon Severn, which is home to the famous jazz festival, is just three miles away.
