The New Inn is an excellent local pub and restaurant based in Shrawley, just outside of Worcester. The pub is run by Tania and Keith, tenants for Admiral Taverns who has been the proprietors since June 2007. The pub has a long history within the local area, with the building and business dating all the way back to 1819, when the building housed a butcherie, however it was first established as a public house in 1832. The inn is situated just across from Shrawley Woods, which guarantees a regular influx of walkers, who wish to experience the culinary delights on offer, along with the fine selection of local ales. The New Inn has a four star rating with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. With the enforcement of the smoking ban and the raising of beer and petrol prices, The New Inn has stayed strong due to its traditional atmosphere, and friendly staff, offering customers a comfortable and extremely enjoyable experience. There is an outdoor, heated smoking area, a childrens play area, and well behaved dogs are always welcome, particularly favouring the beautiful open fires after a long walk. Every Wednesday and Friday evening is live music nights. The Sunday lunches at The New Inn are particularly popular, offering a fantastic traditional Sunday roast dinner with all the trimmings. After Sunday lunch, patrons of the pub can walk it off in Shrawley Woods, and enjoy the beautiful scenery and countryside. We have now introduced a number of special offers to our restaurant including 2 courses for £10 or 3 courses for £15, so there no excuse not to join us. Regulars of the New Inn will be aware of one full time resident at the pub. However those who are not familiar with The New Inn may be surprised to learn that it houses a ghost by the name of Fred. Unfortunately, according to Tania, Fred is not always friendly, a fact, it seems, that does little to deter the customers! In the future, Tania and Keith hope to extend the premises to incorporate the old butcheries, bringing some of The New Inns history back into play. A fantastic new website will be up and running shortly, detailing the menus and ales on offer, along with further history on the pub and the building. Tania and Keith hope to recruit a lot more staff in the near future, along with expanding the garden area to offer patrons more space.
