The Chequers Inn Woolmer Green is a family run pub/restaurant. Nick, Marian and Ben purchased this old coaching inn on the 29th August 2003. This delightful pub now offers an A La Carte restaurant, a varied snack/lunch menu as well as a three course Sunday lunch. The bar is warm and inviting with open fires during the winter months. There is a good range of beers and real ales on offer as well as a reasonably priced wine list. A small selection of comfortably fitted bedrooms are also available. Situated in a picturesque part of Hertfordshire The Chequers is an ideal choice. Be it for business lunches, celebration meals or just a light snack. All food is prepared on the premises from fresh, daily delivered produce. The family pride themselves on their friendly, efficient service. The bar is spacious, but cosy, being partially divided by a large brick built fireplace having open fires on both sides. Ample seating is provided for lunchtime diners and leather sofas with low coffee tables add a further degree of comfort for those who would like to relax with a glass of wine or a coffee. A variety of beers and real ales are available as well as a good range of wines. The bar offers a bar billiards table for light entertainment. For all those sports fanatics Setanta Sports is available on our plasma TV. Accommodation is also available; all bedrooms are en-suite, light, airy and comfortable. All rooms have a TV, tea and coffee making facilities. Due to popular demand our pies will be available on Wednesdays and Saturdays Every Wednesday and Saturday we will be offering a selection of homemade pies with all the trimmings for £5.00 per person. Every Thursday we will be offering a selection of traditional home cooked meals for £6.00 per person both these offers will be available at both lunch and evening sessions. Bookings recommended.
