Just a few hundred yards away from the River Roach you’ll find The Plough & Sail owned by the Oliver family since 1965. Still run as a traditional country pub set in the Essex countryside with cozy log fires, home-cooked food, real ales and a superb Gin selection. The Plough & Sail has history dating back over 300 years.
We’re very proud of our home-cooked food, our hugely talented chefs make all of our dishes from scratch using locally sourced ingredients where possible. Including fruit and vegetables grown in Paglesham just ten metres from the pub, asparagus from Gary Ross in Canewdon and the acclaimed Barling Beauty sausages from Burtons Farm less than two miles away!
