Detailed Information

The King’s Arms at Frating is situated prominently on the crossroads of the main road and has a large, accommodating car park and beer garden area with table benches to enjoy a drink or a meal ‘Al Fresco’. This C1600 century building is actually very much a surprise. Given its age it has the quaint Olde Worlde look to the exterior, with beautiful baskets of colourful flowers in the summer, but on entering, one finds the interior has recently been revamped and it has very much a ‘Bistro’ theme and modern feel. Clean, light, airy and overlooking part of the garden, is a large dining room well able to seat, more dining tables around the bar area and some large, comfy, leather sofas in which to sink if you just want to drink, relax and chat. In the winter, two large ‘Real’ fires, one at each end of the bar, keep the pub cosy and warm and the customers happy. The food is comprehensive, catering for most needs including vegetarian and ‘Lite’ meals are also available for those with smaller appetites or just wishing to have lunch rather than dinner. Children are welcome and have their own ‘special’ separate menu. A full range of starters, main courses and desserts are offered and the staff will point out the chefs ‘specials’ board above the bar. The food is delicious, good portions, well cooked and presented beautifully as the chef cannily knows that if it looks as good as it tastes… you will enjoy it all the more. The dessert menu is wickedly tempting, if indeed you have any room for sweet after dinner. A full range of coffees, including liqueur coffees and tea if required, are offered to complete your meal. A feature of the King’s Arms is a very successful promotion ‘Special Offer’ every weekday. These may be subject to change but include ‘Buy a Main Meal get one FREE’. ‘A FREE bottle of wine with every two meals’ along with ‘Buy a steak Meal and claim a FREE dessert’. The King’s Arms benefits from a large function room; catering for conferences and business meetings and those happy occasions for celebrations, birthdays, wedding, anniversaries, retirement or just a good old, knees up party. For the sad events that befall us, weeley crematorium is but a five-minute drive away and the staff are fully sympathetic on these sad occasions. Full meals or finger buffet can be prepared by our chef for any of these occasions, but as this room is in demand as much notice as possible in advance is required please. Talking of parties, the King’s Arms hold regular, well-attended entertainment evenings with ‘Special Guest’ performers and regular fun, quiz nights. For those who wish to shoot pool, there is a pool table in the function room and away from the main bar. As a package, the King’s Arms is hard to beat. With always a warm welcome from the friendly staff so, give the King’s Arms a try for your next meal, night out or event. Phone Jill or Neal on 01206 250 277.
